I’ve always been interested in eating healthy and am guilty of following the “trend of the day” diet- be it low-fat, low-carb, vegetarian, you name it – in order to be healthy and lose weight. But when my family and I were diagnosed with gluten-sensitivity, I started taking a closer look at our relationship with food and how it impacts our health. As the saying goes, you are what you eat. Eating the standard American diet (“SAD”) can cause a myriad of health problems. Eating a nutrient-dense whole-food diet can correct these issues and give you vitality.

Nutritional therapy focuses on the Foundations of basic health: Digestion, Blood Sugar, Mineral balance, Fatty Acid balance and Hydration. In order to obtain optimal health, each of these Foundations must be functioning properly.

My nutritional philosophy is a science based, yet holistic approach to nutritional counseling rooted in the conviction that REAL food, as nature intended, is a form of medicine that can heal, protect, nurture, and support good health. Our bodies are remarkably capable of restoring balance when given the proper raw materials. It is both a system of healing and prevention that can help improve energy levels and enhance an overall feeling of wellness in the body.

I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist from the Board of Certified Nutrition Specialists, one of only seven in Oregon recognized with the CNS designation; the gold standard for advanced nutrition professionals.  I also have a Masters degree in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and a certificate from The Nutritional Therapy Association. In addition, I am a Certified GAPS Practitioner and a Certified Gluten Practitioner. Utilizing my knowledge and skills, together we can put you on the path to a healthier and more vibrant you!
